These terms cover use of Smart Seating Generator (smartseatinggenerator.com), an independently operated tool referred to below as "the service", "we", or "us". By using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
Smart Seating Generator lets you build seating arrangements for classrooms, weddings, and events. The free tier is available without an account. Two one-time purchases — Smart Chart and Teacher Pro — unlock additional features, described on the pricing page.
There are no user accounts. Your roster and layout data are processed only in your browser and are not stored by us — see the Privacy Policy for detail.
Purchases
Smart Chart and Teacher Pro are one-time purchases, not subscriptions — you're charged once and the unlock doesn't expire or renew. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, a third-party payment processor; we don't handle or store your payment details directly.
A purchase is identified by a payment ID rather than an account. Losing access (switching devices, clearing browser data) can be resolved by restoring the purchase with that payment ID from the pricing page — see our Refund Policy for what happens if a purchase itself needs to be refunded.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes someone else's rights.
- Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent the entitlement/paywall system other than through a legitimate purchase or restore.
- Interfere with or disrupt the service — for example, by overwhelming it with automated requests.
- Use the contact form or checkout to send spam, malware, or abusive content.
Intellectual property
The Smart Seating Generator name, logo, and the tool's underlying code and design are owned by its operator. You retain all rights to the roster data and content you enter into the tool — we don't claim any ownership over it, and as noted above, we don't even receive a copy of it.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular seating arrangement will be found for every possible set of rules. You're responsible for reviewing any generated chart before relying on it.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that purchase.
Changes to the service or these terms
We may update the service or these terms over time. Material changes will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
